About Us
Our Background
Public Health Innovations (PHI), was registered in 2007 as a company Limited by Guarantee. Its very creation was premised on the very limited pool of expertise in the East African region working with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTIQ+) and Key Populations (sex workers, people who use drugs, men who have sex with men and transgender individuals). While the region has many highly competent consultants and expertise, who cover a wide array of focus and sectors, issues of marginalized communities particularly LGBTIQ+ and other key populations have not been effectively addressed either due to stigma towards these populations or simply not having adequate knowledge about the various communities involved.

To be a leader in LGBTIQ+ and Key Population programming, research and capacity building in Africa.
